A strong team for full performance
Vehicle refinishing at the highest level - this is why automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz and paint manufacturer PPG are working closely together, and globally as well: An international qualification event explicitly for trainers has now taken place at the PPG headquarters in Hilden.
The long, close cooperation between Mercedes-Benz and PPG has always focused on the goal of continuously improving quality and training standards - as part of the new international qualification concept for painters. A week-long training for PPG trainers ("Train the Trainer”) represented the joint kick-off to that end. "Like Mercedes-Benz, PPG attaches great importance to establishing high-quality products and processes in the industry," said Carsten Seyer, Senior Business Development Manager EMEA PPG. "As one of the few global vehicle refinishing partners of Mercedes-Benz, we are proud to support the new training concept for painters."
The method: PPG trainers will become qualified according to the extensive repair standards of Mercedes-Benz so that they can pass on their knowledge to painters and qualify more trainers. Steen Elmer Jorgensen, Technical Market Support Manager EMEA: “This creates multipliers and allows the additional transfer of knowledge to the body and paint shops. Furthermore, we enable them to do reliable repairs according to the current standards of our partner Mercedes Benz - a win-win situation for everyone involved. We are very glad to be on board here. ”
The five-day joint training took place at the end of February. PPG trainers from Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia met at the PPG site in Hilden. Harald Welker, trainer for Mercedes-Benz Global Training, conducted the training and is very satisfied with the results and achievements of the PPG trainers: "Everyone passed and was very committed to the cause." Steen Elmer Jorgensen, Jan Barwinski and Carsten Seyer played a leading role in the seminar for PPG.
